In accordance with 150th death anniversary of  St.Kuriakose Elias Chavara, CMC Irinjalakuda Udaya Province has decided to build 15 houses for the homeless at Kannikara. Blessing of foundation stones of this project which is named as Chavararam was done by Bp Mar Pauly Kanookadan. Provincial Superior Sr.Vimala explained about this venture. Vicar General Msgr.Lazer Kuttikadan and Fr.John Kavalakkatt, vicar of Thazhekkad laid the foundation stones of the same. Ward member Shiny Varghese was present at the function.

In memory of St.Chavara who is fondly called Priorachan  by all and was the first prior, saplings of  prior mango tree was distributed to all mother superiors. Social Councillor Sr.Lisy Paul gave leadership for the function.
